"Christmas Contrafact" is an original etude, based off of the chords and melody of "The Christmas Song" (Chestnuts Roasting), the classic tune made famous by Nat King Cole.


This etude includes suggested articulation markings throughout as a guide, especially for saxophone players, to add an increased level of detail and authentic Jazz style!


The lines in this etude are rooted in traditional 1940s and 50s bebop style largely informed by players such as Sonny Stitt, Charlie Parker, Lou Donaldson, and Cannonball Adderley.
