His latest release, "Something Loco", was produced by Dester using samples of himself playing various instruments: sax, electric guitar, bass, and tambourine. It features heavily processed sounds over an EDM-inspired beat. It is pretty great and fun.
The instruments were recorded in 2018 in Los Lunas, NM while Dester was Artist In Residence at The Jam Stand which is an extension of the farming-and-art organization Edible Carnival. Originally from Tulsa, OK, Jake Dester is a Brooklyn-based Professional Musician with over 20 years’ experience. He has a degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance from the world-renowned University of North Texas College of Music, with an emphasis in Composition, Arranging, and Music Theory. Dester writes and produces music and has composed for feature-length film and numerous clients including BET, Univision, the Emmy-winning We Speak NYC, Literacy Partners, and The American Library Association. He also teaches privately, working with students of all ages and skill levels. Jake Dester is a member of ASCAP. |
